PORT BLAIR, SEP 12 : Keeping in view of the power cut crisis in the Port Blair area and to take a first look at the situation a team headed by the Chairperson B.Eswar Rao accompanied by Senior Vice Chairperson N.K.Udaya Kumar, Junior vice Chairperson Dharmendra Narayan and Councillors PBMC viz  K.ganeshan, Someshwara Rao, protima Banerjee, S.Karunakaran L.Murthy and the TDP president Manik Rao visited the Surya Chakra plant situated at Bambooflat.

The team therein interacted with the officials of the corporation, Biji  George (GM) OP and Madhav Rao, Assistant Engineer informed that a team of engineers from mainland are currently on a visit to the Corporation and the DG set will be operational within two to three days which will reduce the power crisis to a great extend. The 5 Megawatt DG set will be operated at the earliest and the rest will soon be made functional. The Chairperson also briefed about the problems faced by the local populace. The officials further informed that the Administration is working in full tandem to sort out the power crisis problem at the earliest.
